2016 saw the establishment of an Interschool Eisteddfod with two rural schools in the Eastern Cape as participants. We made everything simple & accessible, and with the dedication of the convenors at the two schools, we had a 100% participation rate of all students. It was not just about winning, but taking part and to have the courage to perform, or exhibit, work in front of other people to enjoy.

True to our name, Klipspringertjie, we jumped between venues to see the kids (and some adults) in action.

We soon realised that this is not enough. We wanted to take the no-fuss opportunity to other schools. We live in tough times, and budgets are cut to the bone, and unfortunately, the arts are mostly first in line to get a goodbye letter. We want to change that. We want to give equal opportunities to even the smallest school without the means to travel to a city to take part and give their learners exposure to the very rewarding and exciting life of art. We WANT to present the opportunity to even the smallest school in a little town with dirt roads to participate and showcase their talents in music, drama, art, and dance.

We want to help! We aim to develop young artists through a comfortable environment of adjudication and share some pointers to steer them in a direction of success. We are not there to belittle courageous participants to close all doors to the wonderful world of arts. We foresee an Artist Awards Competition where some participants will be invited to our home base at Shamrock Chapel & Belle Vue in the Sundays River Valley for a glamorous evening of arts! We just need YOU to participate to make it a viable option.

THE DATES FOR OUR 2020 TRAVELING EISTEDDFOD IS ONGOING, AND PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS AND INDIVIDUALS WILL BE NOTIFIED AND CONSULTED WHEN WE WILL BE VISITING THEM.
